today I was reading Hadas Eritra and I noticed an article by Temeharit Samrawit Weldai. She seems to be very unhappy about this movie. I have never been in the war zone, but from what I used to hear, Timali is the replica of the struggle era.
So why is she unhappy and am I missing anything???

As an Eritrean am totally frustrated after I read the 5 edition commets given by (wedi dawit) about the this film TMALY in hadas ertra. I know this film could have shortage of coverage for everything happend during the struggle time as there is no perfection but doing something is better than nothig. His arguement is good and constructive as the same time criticising things is I think more easier than……What makes me angry is in the middel of his article is that he said (b hinchalat koluut …etkom etki tegadelti dey mesil etc..) Wedi Dawit has forgotten all the beloved youths of eritrea are scattering all over the world with an understood reasons. So pls accept that those U said (hinchalat koluut) are the fence , blood, life and everything to the beloved and blessed Eritrea. I had lots of things to say in mind …but lets all of us accept there is no perfection. God bless our country and long live to all artists of Eritrea.

Well. This is nice Eri. movie of all time in my opinion. People are complaining about the ending but I thought it was perfect. This shaws not only those who fought in battles but also those who had links, Yorda in this case, paid heavy price for our independence. Kibreab's mistake was deciding to marry Freta but he made no mistake sticking to her at the end. ''Kalkidan kubur eyu'' at the end of the day. I would summarise the movie as a tribute to our women who suffered the most. Well Done.
This is great movie from our great producer. It is the story of the people of Eritrea, story of my/our childhood and it is so touching. The hard work of our people is rewarded. It is great documentary for future generation. The sweat, blood, torture, wound, sacrifice and success is well defined. I am glad and we have a genius like Esayas Tsegay. Good job I almost broke in tears, memory as well as laughter in each and every episode.
We are proud to have such Hollywood characters, Great job goes to Tsirha which has a perfect character. Elders, sergenti and tilenti are awesome and their wifes.. Asmarino, Girmai goes from bad guy to family guy. The patience of Yorda and tough luck is sad however life is up and down. Great work go to Wedi sergenti and Fretta, you guys drill it. Fetwi you are great in the bad guy. Asmerom and Nigisti I enjoyed your unity in the bad times. Jelani, it is very sad you disabaled. Wedi Basii, Kunchi, Absho, Zahra you guys nail it excelllent job. Suleman and his team tough job in the middle of fire.

Hi… people. It was a great movie and I really really appriciate the film from nul to the end. I read some of your comments people. I think the writer done very good work. At least he tried to telling us about the story of his home (Zanta gezana). I really do not understand why some people tried to crtisize the writer. Wedi sergenti (Kibreab) was telling the story may be he could know just about his family and some people who were close to his family and his close fighter commerades. But the writer have tried to show at least all experinces and life both in battel fields. I have really appriciate the materials ,clothe, cars the house style specially the middel and lower class people. Even I got more unexpected memories which i have really missed from my head.
I hope many of you ladies/gentleman have the same feeling.

Most people must be angry with the conclusion of the film. Yordanos does not deserve such fate…….but if you understand the message of the film it is a superb conclusion. kudos to Iseyas Tsegay …… excellent job.

Movie 'TIMALI' big name but valueless. actors were all amazing but their roles were silly except Yorda, Segent, Telente, wedi Halima…. Frieta was selfish, kibreab was unreasonable, wedi bashai unfair he did not represent the Hero Tigadelti he was too bias toward Frieta and kibreab.
It started good but very soon flattered. Fila is right. name did not match story line. I am upset, not becouse it ended sadly but spoiled the the real history. We started asmait being pregnant the conflict between aboy sergente and his daughter. The other mess comes when Asmait said,"Gizeka tetekimkalu mis belete ni Kibreab"…. then where is the story about the pregnancy of Asmait…. Kibreab stole the story and diverted us all. At last we end up having an open end story…. great characters but the story is not that much taking into account what Iseyas could have done to make it better.

This movie is FANTASTIC…we are not ready and able to criticise this film. We are years way back. Had wedi sergenti ended up with yorda it would have been the worst movie..However the writer and director is Smart he know Eritrean story very well. Our story is tragic. True eritrean story. let's keep things in perspective. After the first two episodes, I thought the movies is going to narrate the challenges the Eritrean people having been facing from our neighboring in the South from the pre armed struggle –to the time of armed struggle until werar Hasadat weyane. That is how it started, I believe.
My brother/sister nhbi wedi dawit's critism despite his wrong choice of words in crafting the articles in Hadas ertra, I believe is in its place. I hope all who care about our history as people will give Issayas Tsegay their constructive critism so that he can do it better—I know he is capable of doing just well. This being the content flaws. Let's talk about the technical aspect of the movie. As untrained as I am, 1) I can not believe that yorda, qunChi, jelani, wedibatsE, freta etc did not change much in fourteen years in appearance. Any lady like yorda, that had lived in a situation like that of yorda for such a long time would be expected to at least moderetly appear physically withered. The will however is another matter. Yorda had showed the true indomitable Eritrean Will!! 2)Choice of clothing the clothing of some of the actors does not reflect the clothing that people were wearing in the late 80's……, 3) mix-up on the narration time-line of events etc are some of flaws in the movie. Issayas tSgeay is very capable and one of my favorite artists and I am sure he will take all critism to heart and produce a movie….and other artistic works that we all enjoy and learn from. But when we see something that needs to be corrected let's voice our concern so that we can all do better!!
