Thousands of youth citizens living abroad arrive here to take part in the 5th National Youth Festival

Asmara, 6 July 2012 – Thousands of youth citizens living abroad have arrived in the Homeland to take part in the 5th National Youth Festival. Reports indicated that around 1,200 youths arrived here over the past 3 days via Eritrean Airlines, NasAir, Yemen Airways, Lufthansa and Egypt Air.

The Festival’s coordinating committee pointed out that thousands of youth citizens residing in Europe, North America and the Middle East arrived earlier, and that they have made the necessary preparations for the Festival.

Natnael Alazar, Natsinet Semere and Natnael Mesfin from Sweden, USA and Holland respectively explained that they have long awaited to take part in such event, and that it is their expectation to share experience with youths inside the country and abroad.

In the same vein, Nibret Girmai, Yosef Michael and Tedros Solomon said that active participation of youths from the Diaspora adds color to the event, and that it is impressive to share the spirit of the Festival in Sawa, the place where national values are nurtured.

More than 30,000 youths inside the country and abroad are expected to participate in the 5th National Youth Festival.
