Somalia and Tanzania Mainland drew 1-1, while Sudan and Kenya settled for a 2-all stalemate in Group A action at the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa ) Under-20 Championships on Tuesday in Asmara Eritrea.
Earlier on, defending champions Uganda dismissed Rwanda 3-1 and Zanzibar edged guest side Yemen 2-1 in Group B matches, while Somalia and Sudan drew 0-0 in a Group A tie.
Hosts Eritrea pipped Tanzania Mainland 1-0 in the historic opening match on August 14. A large contingent of diplomats from the country witnessed the start of the first international tournament Eritrea has hosted since independence from Ethiopia in 1993. The Eritrean government and the United Nations are sponsoring the two-week event that ends on August 28.
