Easter Holiday Colorfully Celebrated Nationwide
Asmara, 4 April 2010 – Easter holiday was today celebrated nationwide colorfully.
Following overnight prayers by the faithful in their respective areas, the holiday was celebrated in various manners according to reports.
The holiday was also celebrated at national level in the village of Zagre, Serejeka sub-zone through the collaboration of the Ministry of Information and Administration of Central region. The event in which the Administrator of Central region, Mr. Kahsay Gebrehiwot, government Officials, Army Commanders and other invited guests participated was transmitted live via ERI-TV and Dimtsi-Hafash.
Speaking at the occasion, the Administrator of Serejeka sub-zone, Mr. Tesfahiwot Meresi'e wished happy Easter to the entire Eritrean people as well as the members of Eritrean Defence Force. He went on to state that the celebration of the holiday in one of historical sites of the armed struggle further highlighted the day.
Representative of the coordinating committee, Ms. Liya Gebreab on her part expressed appreciation to the inhabitants of Serejeka sub-zone, Ministry of Information, artists and others involved in coordinating the event.
Various artistic performances were staged by the Red Followers and Yata cultural troupes during the event. (Shabait)
