Eritrean national cycling team scores impressive victory in Tour of Libya

Eritrean national cycling team scores impressive victory in 3rd edition of International Cycling Tour of Libya

Asmara, 15 March 2010 – The Eritrean national cycling team scored impressive victory at the 3rd   edition of International Cycling  Tour of Libya  from March 13 to 17.

The 120 Km-long race, cyclists Dawit Haile stood 1st, Frekalsi Debesai 2nd,  Bereket Yemane 4th, Jani Tewolde 5th , Amanuel Kibreab 6th and Meron Russom 7th.

Reports indicated that the participants of the race have already covered about 388 km. and that about 269 remained to be covered

Eritrean cyclists Jani Tewolde got the white shirt of honor as  the best young cyclist, while the Eritrean national cycling team received the honor given for the best team from its Algerian  counterpart.  

The 4th edition of the International Cycling  Tour of Libya is  scheduled to take place tomorrow covering a total of 124 kilometers, according to reports. (Shabait)

This great victory broight memories from the 80′s and 90′s when I was a devoted fun of Ganta Dahlak, lead first by Zerigaber, later by the great cyclist wedi hidray, habtu, rivaling the legendary Yemane Tekeste Gebel),wedi Negash, Redae, Ayte, biniam Berhe of Adulis, Daniel Fessehaye etc

    I’m confident that more victories are to follow on tomorrow’s 140km race by deki Ere!
