Sudanese paper urges African leaders to counter UN Resolutions against Eritrea

Mar 07, 2010 (BBC Monitoring via COMTEX) — It seems as if Allah always grants the wishes of this Newspaper since its publication in the year 2003. Our mission since the first issue is maintaining peace and unity and we continued calling for peace in Sudan, an objective that took place two years of our first issue was in stalls.

Then we stressed on the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) to pave the way for the democratic transformation which became a reality with the nearing of the election scheduled to be conducted next month.

And again from the very beginning of Darfur crisis we raised the banner "Put down the arms and negotiate peaceful agreement", and our people are on the right track following the signature of the framework agreement between GoNU [Government of National Unity] and JEM [Justice and Equality Movement].

Two weeks ago Sudan Vision Editor-in-Chief travelled to Asmara to join our Eritrean brothers while celebrating the 20th anniversary of Finkil victory and he had the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive interview with the Eritrean President, Isayas Afewerki.

The interview tackled local concerns as well as regional and international issues.

The Eritrean President stressed on strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Sudan and Eritrea and the investments for the benefit of the people of the two sisterly countries.

Published last week, the interview highlighted the necessity of the regional cooperation and that Sudan and Eritrea could reflect a bright sample.

Here in Sudan we already examined many challenges. Of them a number of UNSC resolutions which our people overcome despite some negative effects on our country.

For that we rejected the unjustifiable UNSC resolutions targeting our continent the last of which was the resolution No 1907 against Eritrea.

We call again on the continent leaders to counter those unreasonable resolutions aiming at hampering our normal lire aspirations.

Only last Thursday [4 March] Sudan Vision affirmed that always opt to the right direction when President Al Bashir paid a visit to Eritrea to meet his counterpart the Eritrean President Isayas Afewerki; a visit which would contribute and reflect positively the bilateral relations between the two which definitely have its influence in the regional relations within the horn of Africa and it advancement despite the current complications.

Sudan Vision will always raise the banner of peace, justice and humanity not only in Sudan, but even in the regional and international fronts.

As expected and before the ink of this editorial dried, President Al Bashir declared Sudan's absolute support to Eritrea against the unjustified UNSC resolution, as well as reminding his counterpart the same struggle when Sudan was subject to similar UNSC resolution issued in full absence of any logic or justification.
