  12. lidya says:

well for me i love the fact that eritrea is a disciplined country unlike America u see ever where women’s smoking and its wily annoying and disgusting but mostly it is a sin to smoke whether u like it or not. I am sure u would not like it if your wife or sister were smoking. I am seeing this from a point of view of Eritreans.
i grew up in Eritrea until i turned 10 but i have never seen a women smoke and part of me i felt kind of proud

i can’t believe u guys are arguing over the girl smoking …hehehehe.

i like the movie a lot, even the smoking part, because the movie director and writer are being very realistic. i am actually glad that Isaias Tesgay included it in the movie.During the struggle for independence, there were Eritrean women/tegadelti who smoked. So the truth should be told as it was and is!

But how come you guys are not concerned about the guy that’s smoking with her. i mean smoking has a bad effect on both genders, not just women. you guys really need to suck it up.It’s a ridiculous and unrealistic expectations you have from Eritrean women.

    Hana

  20. Aklilu H says:

    What happened to part 16?

  21. Sami says:

The first world, (USA and EU) are trying to discourage their societies from smoking for it’s negative consequence in health. Here we see a huge campaing against smoking such as putting an ugly infected lung or canserous body tissue pictures in the ciggarette boxes and cigarette advertisements etc….
We too should a bit carefull not to send a wrong message to young kids about ciggarette smoking. well , I am confident though any young Ertitrean is well aware the consequence of smoking and they know that smoking is kind old fashined. It is not cool to smoke.

  22. Selam says:

I can’t wait to see ‘Part 16′. What is wrong there?

  23. Sebere says:

its the best character i ever seen from the eritrian movies cuz even it covers both with the civilian and millitary life it seems like a reall thing happens to me so it doesent mater whether the girl is smoking or not iknow it is not acepted by our culture but ther is some of our sis somoking so take it easy.

you guys keep it up nice movie

  26. mical says:

Well i know that it’s not good to smoke but drop it its not that of a big deal ppl is doing way worst thing than that.

  27. Emnet says:

This is a movie based on real events.  The writer/director, who is a veteran, is trying to capture the events of that period the way he experienced them.  That is why it is so touching and powerful.  The girl smoking is just a part of it.  It is not like this was written by some hollywood screen writer.

Growing up in Asmara during this time and having witnessed the disappearances of brothers and sisters and the feeling of loss of the time, I must say this movie has captured it beautifully.  It has also given us a glimpse into what they went through after they left their beloved families behind.  Some of it is funny. Some of it brings tears to your eyes.  Other times you feel pride and a sense of urge to right by Eritrea.
Thanks to the actors, who play this part so realistically.  Thanks to the producers and Thanks to Issayas Tsegai.

  28. Tsirha says:

I don't like to be rude or disrespectful, However i have to say those people who don't Frawayni are traditional people, who don't believe in equality, and if they are women, they are women who don't have self respect and confidence.  Smoking is not okey, health wise for neither women nor men period.  it is also steriotypical to say that it makes Frawayni look AWALA.  please tell me how is it that you guys have not said anything about they guys who are smoking ?  If u ask me i have never seen any Eritrean actress that inspired me the way that Frawayni does.  I wish there are more Strong, agressive, outspoken, and beautiful  women like Frewayni.
