President Isaias particularly emphasized the need for introducing alternative energy in the lime and brick factories so that they may not cause any possible air and environment pollution as well as deforestation.
Also in the course of the visit to inspect the construction of a micro-dam in Aligidir, the President received detailed briefings by experts and project heads on the tasks accomplished to lay the necessary solid foundation for the micro-dam.
Commending the tasks so far undertaken, he expressed words of encouragement for the speedy finalization of the project. Moreover, President Isaias observed the preparations being made to put vast area under cultivation below the Gerset Dam, in addition to the experimental project of planting trees of palm, mango and sugar cane, during which he received briefings on the promising prospects.
The President noted the need to enhance the experiment procedures and demonstrate the necessary care for the newly planted trees until they adapt to the prevailing weather condition.
Following an inspection tour of construction of water tankers on over 100 meters of elevation aimed at facilitating irrigation farming through draining (pumping) waters from the Gerset Dam, he exchanged views with the relevant parties on ways of speeding up the construction process.
President Isaias also visited the construction site of foam-based residential houses in Gerset, during which he observed its sustainability and competence. He further conducted discussions with project heads for the successful implementation of the project.
Earlier, the President conducted similar inspection tour of development and infrastructure projects around Afhimbol and Molober.
