Miss East Africa contest, which was held in Burundi on December 19, 2008, involved 28 beauties from Tanzania, the host Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Re Union, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius and Comoros. Rahwa Ghebrehiwet from Eritrea won third place in 2008 Miss East Africa competition in December.
