Invited foreign nationals arrive here to participate in 3rd National Youth Festival By MOI
Asmara, 15 July 2008 – Invited foreign nationals from different countries have arrived in Eritrea to participate in the 3rd National Youth Festival, according to the preparatory committee.
So far, participants from a number of countries, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Japan and Kenya have already arrived in Asmara.
The chairman of the Festival’s preparatory committee, Ismael Mussa, welcomed the foreign participants at a ceremony. The leader of the Japanese group, Kohei Yamada, said that they are delighted to participate in the Festival and expressed appreciation to the hospitality accorded them. He further explained that the festival would create solid groundwork for strengthening relations between Eritrean and Japanese youths.
Reports indicated that the Japanese participants would ride on bicycle fro and to Asmara-Foro in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Eritrean Sports Commission. A member of the group, Mio Yamasaki, who visited Eritrea twice, expressed appreciation to the NUEYS for inviting them to take part in the Festival.
