As attested by tourists and other visitors to the country, it's one of the safest places on the planet. Unfortunately, however, the Eritrean policy of self reliance and the new nation's insistance on managing its own affairs is detrimental to the wishes of those who are used to imposing their will through puppet regimes around Africa.
